Aerial photos of Australia to fuel your wanderlust

Australia is a country that looks even better from above. We've been lucky enough to take several scenic flights over some of the most beautiful parts in Australia, and also have a drone allowing us to shoot aerial photography much more often.

The photos below are a mixture of scenic flight and drone photography. When it comes to flying drones in Australia, there are very strict laws, please always obey the CASA rules

Here are some aerial shots of Australia to show you just how beautiful this country is.

Aerial Photos of Australia

Western Australia

We recently visited Perth having been inspired by the superb drone photography we'd seen and it didn't disappoint! If you ever get the chance to take to the air in WA, it's something you'll never forget.

It's inspired us to plan a return visit already.

The Great Barrier Reef

A flight over the Great Barrier Reef is the experience of a lifetime. It's the best way to see the sheer scale of this wonder of the world. We flew the first time from Cairns, and loved it so much we also splashed out on a flight in the Whitsundays. It was worth every cent, there's really no better way to see the reef.

The Whitsundays

The Whitsundays is one of the most beautiful places we've ever been. A flight over these paradise islands offers hundreds of really interesting photo opportunities.

The Outback

The Outback is one of our favourite places to photograph in Australia. The earth is a bold orange here, and paired with clear blue skies and endless space makes it the perfect place for some epic drone shots!

Sydney & New South Wales

Sydney and its beaches are so photogenic, if you ever get the opportunity to take a helicopter flight over the harbour, it's an experience not to be missed. Check for stand by flights if you have time and want to save some money. You cannot fly drones anywhere over the harbour so that or a seaplane is the only way to see the harbour from above.

There are quite a few beaches that you can drone in Sydney, our favourite weekend itinerary was: get up for sunrise, head to one of the hundreds of beaches, take drone shots (whilst no one is up and on the beach), finish with a good breakfast!
